Maryland PTO law overview
Maryland requires paid sick leave for employers with 15 or more employees but does not require general PTO payout. Sick leave accrues at 1 hour per 30 hours worked up to 40 hours annually.
Maryland's paid sick leave requirement is separate from vacation PTO. Maryland does not require vacation to be paid out at termination but does require employers to honor their written PTO policies.
