Ohio minimum wage overview
Ohio's minimum wage is constitutionally mandated and adjusts annually based on inflation. Ohio has a lower rate for employers with gross receipts under $385,000 and for workers under 16. Ohio does not apply to employers with annual gross receipts of $385,000 or less.
Like Florida, Ohio has its minimum wage enshrined in the state constitution making reductions very difficult. Ohio's annual inflation adjustment is based on the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers.

What if my employer pays less than minimum wage?
If your employer is paying you less than the Ohio minimum wage of $10.45 per hour, you have the right to file a wage claim with the Ohio Department of Commerce - Division of Labor and Worker Safety. You may be entitled to recover back wages plus penalties. Most states allow you to recover unpaid wages going back 2-3 years. You can also file a complaint with the federal U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division which enforces the federal minimum wage under the FLSA.
